As we're coming closer to launching the Solcial app, and with the success of our TGE, we felt it would be helpful to release some advice on ways to avoid potential scams and how to keep yourself protected within the Solcial community. While the team does do a great job at monitoring and removing spam, there still is a chance that you might come across some. Please understand, in crypto, you are responsible for your own safety. We would never ask for your private keys so never give them up!

Here are a few commons scams or spam that members of the Solcial community get targeted with.
1. Messages Claiming to be "Solcial Official" Looking to Help
Our team will almost never message you first. We do not seek to help you with your issues through DM. There have been fake accounts that pretend to be Solcial that will message people asking if they can help. Please be aware and understand that we do not message you first. If you are still unsure, please send a message to the official chat and we can verify any messages. Please see screenshot below for an example:
2. Posts on the Telegram Chat Promoting Outside or Fake Events
Some of you might have seen these, but they can be quite misleading and the Solcial community should be aware of them. One example of these fake events is if some account posts in our Telegram chat proclaiming a great opportunity to earn passive income. Others claim to be involved in a chat with a "Big VC" and they need help to promote Solcial. This is scam and should be ignored. Their goal is to bait you into messaging them or joining their community and then they can find new ways to scam you. We try to delete these pieces of spam immediately. Overall, all conversations on our chats should be about Solcial and if a post is not about Solcial or the mission that Solcial is targeting, then it is most likely spam. Please see examples below.

3. Fake Telegram Groups Pretending to be Solcial
In the past we have been informed about Telegram groups pretending to be an official Solcial group. They then trick people into “Investing” which these investors then lose their money. Please only go on official groups especially when it comes to investing. The only exception would be the Solcial price unnofical group. This is a community run group that provides a place for price disuccion. However, with our token $SLCL now trading there should be no scams seeking to trick investors.

4. Messages Claiming to be Airdropping Tokens
This might be the most common piece of spam we find on our chats. We try and always delete these right when they are posted. What occurs is an account pretending to be “Rose” (the announcement bot in our Telegram chat) claims to have a huge airdrop that is occurring. This is a complete scam and designed to trick people. Be aware. Any airdrops will be announced on our official channels and will not be done through Rose. If for some reason you see this and have questions please ask one of our moderators.

Summary
When it comes to scammers, there are new ways seemingly everyday that they try and trick you out of your crypto. As a best practice, if anyone has any questions about posts or offers they might see, please confirm them with us on our official chats. Here we can investigate ourselves and advise on the validity of the claim.
We applaud the Solcial community for being united and helping each other out whenever someone is confused of at risk of falling victim to any scam. We need to be united as we move forward, not just in protecting ourselves from scammer, but in building the future of social media.
