Shifting the Power from Corporate to Community

Solcial is building the Web3 social media platform of the future for the free-thinking world-leading individual. Our community is already filled with revolutionaries who believe in our mission to take the power away from social media platforms and give it to the user. An example of the high-quality community we have was the profound comment left by Simon. To be clear, the team does not know Simon and this was sent in a reply to a tweet we posted. We felt Simon was sharing a truth that all of us at Solcial hold dearly. If we all come together to take back control of our social media feeds we will see a massive shift in power from the corporation to the community.

Corporations Have Been in it for Themselves

Corporations have been running social media platforms for themselves. It seems that the only time they worry about the user is when they are trying to find a new way to keep them addicted or when targeting ads. Never do they worry about how they can help users keep more of their data, monetize and earn a living off their content, and build healthier online connections.

On Web2 the platform has all the power, and the only interest they act in is their own. Given their decade-long monopoly of social media platforms, it is no surprise that Facebook and Twitter have grown complacent. They are slow to change, quick to censor, and out of touch. It is clear that trust in our social media platforms has dissipated.

Web3 – Hope for the Average Person

Prior to Web3, users had one or two choices if they didn’t want to be subject to the corrupting power that these corporations had. It was either ignore the fact that platforms were looking at you as a monetary item, not a valuable user who is the reason for their success. Or upset users could leave social media altogether. There were no viable alternatives and even those few alternatives often meant giving up data, sacrificing monetization, and not having full control.

But now is different. Now we have the chance to actually own our social media feeds. We have the ability to take the power from the corporation and give it to us the users. Give it to the community who brings the value, creates the content, and makes the platform a success.

One Person Can't Make a Change – But Community Can!

Web3 gives you the power to have a voice. While one voice might not change the world, if we join together as a community, we will be heard. We will create change. We will revolutionize social media and take back control.

The coming Solcial Revolution will see the complete shift of power from corporation to community. Demand is strong, the technology is ready, and the time is now. Let’s join together and build a future where we’re in control.
